मांगे थापणे – (Maange Thapne)
Villagers perform Maange Thapne ritual on the last day of Paush month on Amvashya day symbolizing Crocodile the diety of Waters. On this day villagers worship crocodiles and they create a Crocodile figure using mud from banks of river. This ritual has been performed for several years by the villagers of Durbhat, Talaulim, Adulshem & Tamshirem in Ponda taluka. They believe Crocodile is their Protector.
