The Ambulor Lake is situated approx 2 kms southwest of Verna Industrial Estate in the Salcette taluka. It is excellent place of birding in Goa that supports a large population of herbivorous birds.
It was built to facilitate the irrigation of the nearby fields, the Carambolim lake is a man made freshwater lake. This lake is not so popular but many bird watchers come here for bird watching, one can see a lot of species of migratory birds as well as a lot of waterbirds.
Due to the rich ecology at the lake, one can see birds such as Cotton pygmy goose, cormorant, Northern Pintails, lease whistling duck, waterfowls, egrets, jacanas, moorhens, brown headed gull etc. One can also see paddy fields, trees and woodland in the area that makes the place very picturesque. Udear Springs, is the nearby natural spring which you can also see if you been to Ambulor lake.
