Amthane Dam, Pirna Bicholim

Amthane Dam is one of the beautiful places around Goa that is still quiet and peaceful away from the other tourist hotspots. Amthane dam is not the most popular tourist destination in Goa therefore the virgin beauty of the place still remains unaffected. Amthane dam is the perfect place to relax. One can leave their Goa hotel early in the morning to visit Amthane dam and come back to their hotel in Goa later in the evening. The actual dam of Amthane provides water to Sanquelim treatment plant where it is treated and made fit for consumption. Though the dam itself is not very big but the catchment area provides a very beautiful view and one can also gaze at the beauty of the Sahyadri range from the mouth of the dam.
The Sahayadris are covered with lush green forests which give an absolutely spectacular view from the Amthane dam. It is not yet developed for tourists and picnickers but is a nice place to unwind. The Amthane dam can be visited by taking the left side of the fork from the Assonora bridge instead of driving to Bicholim. For accommodation here one can get an eco resort in Sal that offers food and stay.
